Packaging Machine Upgrade with Inkless Laser Marking Module

For export-oriented manufacturers that rely on on-pack coding for product traceability, traditional thermal transfer printers require regular consumable replacement such as printing ribbons and ink cartridges, resulting in recurring material costs, frequent downtime for reel changes, and occasional smudged or faded marks during long-distance shipping.

We retrofitted our customer’s automatic packaging machine with an in-line laser marking module, delivering inkless, consumable-free coding directly on packaging films as an integrated part of the packaging cycle.

Installed at the pre-sealing station and fully synchronized with the packaging machine’s control system, the laser unit etches production dates, batch codes, serial numbers, barcodes and QR codes directly onto PE, laminated and most common packaging films. It requires no printing ribbons, ink or any other consumables, and the laser source boasts an extended service life with minimal routine maintenance.
